Wait Times

A visit to an ophthalmologist is not always a quick appointment. Our physicians are specialists and rely on many tools and equipment to give a complete assessment of both the inner and outer structures of your eye before settling on a diagnosis or ruling out a possible concern. For this reason, you may expect an appointment to take up to 2 hours from beginning to end. This may not include time required to check-in or prior to being seen.

Our technicians work as part of your vision team and collect important data through diagnostic tests before you see the doctor. They may also administer drops to dilate your eyes. These drops may take 10-15 minutes to take effect, but allow our ophthalmologists to view the structures at the back of your eye. You will be asked to wait while the drops take effect.

Once registered for your appointment, we do our best to see you at your scheduled appointment time, however, we adjust to the needs of each patient to ensure all patients have received appropriate treatment and received answers to their questions. We also see urgent and emergency cases which may require additional intervention that cannot be planned for. Wait times may extend on these occasions to 45-60 minutes.

Please plan accordingly for your visit.
